• This book is full of practical advice, based on solid research and many real-world experiences, and I am going to study it several times (at least 3 or 4 times) because it really is THAT GOOD! You will not regret buying this book, and I am sure you will love it, and be amazed by the huge amount of wisdom shared by the authors... I would give the book more than 5 stars if I could...
• One of the first "self help" books that I ever purchased. I really like how straight forward the message of the book is and outlines different ways to communicate with people in different situations. It has definitely helped me in approaching people when we are in a conflict and to help me not go off the edge on them (because we all get frustrated by people sometimes).

• I purchased the first edition of this book years ago and kept it by my bedside. I loaned it out and didn't get it returned however, so when I was preparing a "Customer Service" presentation for our Library staff, I ordered the  (3rd) edition. The original helped me personally with two particularly difficult people in my life - one an employee and one a boss - so I anticipated that it would be helpful to share with the staff. After the presentation, I donated the book to the library and it had a list of people wanting it even before it got processed.
• One of the best books out there for giving guidance dealing with difficult people. The book is concisely written with a summary at the end of each chapter so you can quickly remember what you read for dealing with each type of difficult personality. There is a lot of bonus material such as chapters dealing with basic communication skills, guidance to phone conversations, guidance to emails correspondence, and guidance for changing your own attitude. I just wish I read this book 20 years ago since the people who appear most successful in our society seem to have the best people skills as opposed to technical skills.
• The book is worth every penny, it teaches you how to disable arguments quickly and effectively, a must have for inline managers
• Read it again and again and again - full of really useful communication skill ideas with really practical examples that will make a lot of sense to you.
• Be careful though, the book asks you to change too as well as encouraging others to do so.

• This is good book to keep in your library, particularly if your job requires you to work in groups. I purchased this book because it was a required reading for a college business policy course I'm taking. The author's insights are helpful in understanding extreme workplace behaviors and the motivational intent behind them. It also helps with self-introspection and self-awareness in recognizing your own behaviors. Highly recommended.
• Why don't they teach this in high schools? This is essential life knowledge! I used it to analyze people around me, and applied suggested techniques - the change in them is astonishing! Where has this book been all my life?
• Once again, Brinkman and Kirschner have delivered a very useful publication for the modern workplace. I am just a dumb engineer with little social skills, and this book has helped me to shed some unhelpful communicating habits in favor of more listening and adapting to the way others deliver/receive information.  Having a digital copy (Kindle version) is a nice bonus!
• I purchased the book to lay out on my desk to make people think twice about why I would be reading a book with that title. I started to flip through it and it started to make a lot of sense! I now think this is a must have to build your communication knowledge. It will work equally as well with people on all ends of the communication spectrum.

• This book's lessons are comprehensive and easily absorbed, which has made it a very useful resource over the years. Whenever I come up against someone with behaviors...outside the norm, I can easily associate it with the types illustrated in the book and respond accordingly. The fact is, the recommendations in this book WORK, and that's all I can ask for.
• Man, this book is packed with information. I had to buy it for a class and I'm so glad. It is an easy read and has tons of helpful advice and techniques.
